Joe has 30 years experience producing, directing and writing a wide range of award-winning documentaries. Beginning at the BBC’s world-famous Natural History Unit, he subsequently moved into a successful career as an independent documentary producer/director and writer, working across several genres including wildlife, science, history, adventure and social documentaries. Canadian-born, he lives and works in the UK and South Africa. His films have been shown around the world by leading broadcasters, including the BBC, ITV, Discovery Channels, National Geographic Channels, PBS, ZDF, ARTE, Canal+, France TV, ARD, ORF, Smithsonian Network, and Channel 4.
Katharina began her TV career in Germany, at NDR 25 years ago, and has been running television production companies in South Africa since 1997. Katharina was fortunate to move to South Africa at the perfect time to be making documentaries when the country was undergoing a renaissance under the new presidency of Nelson Mandela. She produced a wide range of documentaries, educational films and magazine items for South African and international broadcasters. In 2010 she co-founded Table Mountain Films. Across her career, she has produced films for NDR TV & ZDF Germany, ARTE TV, PBS New York, National Geographic, Animal Planet, Discovery Channels, Terra Mater, ORF Universum, MNET, City of Cape Town, and City Profiles South Africa 2010 for FIFA Worldcup. She has also served as a final juror for Wildscreen's Panda Awards in 2016.
